One-day workshops provide an introduction to the methods. The day is shared between the classroom, laboratory, and construction demonstrations. Fee: $250 includes lunch and a copy of the new and revised Rammed Earth House book. Weekend workshops provide hands-on instruction in all phases of wall construction. The first day includes classroom, laboratory, and form building. Second day is an installation practicum. Each student will have the opportunity to use the tools of the trade. Fee: $500 includes lunch both days and a copy of the new and revised Rammed Earth House book. Five-day workshops provide the opportunity for refinement of skills. Expands on the weekend workshop format to include multiple repetitions of each component of wall construction. Relative competence can be expected. Registration fee: varies. International workshops are designed specifically for a project or community group. Rammed Earth Works training teams have conducted one week to one month programs on four continents. These workshops normally focus on the construction of a small classroom or demonstration building. Intern programs present the student with the opportunity for a serious evaluation of the feasibility of building with rammed earth. Students are expected to participate fully in all phases of wall construction and should be prepared to work hard. Resume and interview are required. Professional Training programs are designed for general contractors or specialty concrete contractors with specific projects requiring completion. Rammed Earth Works provides experience qualifications, equipment, on-site training, and construction supervision. The training program requires an interview, pre-construction testing, and a signed services agreement. Professional fee schedule applies. |
