At Design Within Reach in Boulder, the warm, layered walls create a strong first impression while setting the tone for the space beyond. Rammed Earth Works partnered with MillerKnoll to bring the natural warmth and texture of rammed earth into their interior space. The custom installation complements DWR’s modern design aesthetic while introducing an organic, handcrafted material into the showroom environment.

This bedroom display uses the rammed earth panels as a warm, natural backdrop for the furniture and lighting. The soft tones and horizontal striations add texture and character while still keeping the space clean and modern.

Natural lighting can bring a softer hue. Shown here in natural daylight, the rammed earth displays its more neutral, true-to-material color range, with the subtle variation and horizontal striations reading more clearly without the influence of warm interior lighting.

Lighting can make all the difference! With the warm interior lighting turned on, the natural tones appear deeper and more golden, demonstrating how lighting temperature can noticeably influence the perceived color and character of rammed earth.

Your entry should make a statement. Our rammed earth panels make sure it does.

Rammed earth! For when you want dirt inside the house…just not on the floor!
